Engineered for versatility and speed, this shallow remodel housing installs entirely from below the finished ceiling, making it the ideal solution for adding precision accent, task, or general illumination to existing spaces. Its durable Cold Rolled Steel (CRS) construction features a white powder-coat finish, providing a rugged, reliable foundation for your lighting design. As a code-compliant Air-TiteTM fixture, it is certified under ASTM E283 to prevent airflow between conditioned and unconditioned spaces, significantly improving energy efficiency and reducing utility costs for homeowners. Contractor-focused features are at the heart of the H99RTAT housing design. Equipped with 4 heavy-duty remodel clips that securely fasten the unit to 1/2" or 5/8" ceiling materials, it provides a flush, professional fit every time. Wiring is made fast and foolproof with Quick ConnectTM push-in wire nuts; these connectors feature clear caps for instant visibility of your electrical connections. The spacious junction box further simplifies installation with seven 1/2" trade size knockouts and four pry-outs with integral strain relief for non-metallic (NM) sheathed cable. Safety is a top priority, and the integrated self-resetting thermal protector provides an essential layer of protection by deactivating the fixture if overheating occurs due to improper lamping or accidental contact with insulation. Designed for maximum flexibility, this 120V E26 screw-base recessed can light housing features a fixed-position porcelain socket with a nickel-plated brass shell, ensuring consistent and secure lamp positioning. The H99RTAT is compatible with the expansive HALO Fit-All trim line, allowing you to choose from a wide variety of styles and beam distributions, including Halogen, CFL, and Incandescent options. For those looking to modernize, it is easily retrofitted with compatible HALO LED lighting systems. With cULus Listing for damp locations—and Wet Location certification when used with select trims—this housing is perfect for bathrooms, kitchens, and covered outdoor soffits. Choosing the H99RTAT recessed lighting housing means choosing a legacy of excellence. For over 70 years, HALO has been North America’s contractor-preferred recessed lighting brand, built on rigorous testing, innovative engineering, and a commitment to quality that pros have trusted for generations. Built to perform. Made to last.
