what is organic rice husk?
Rice husk — also known as rice hull — is the hard outer covering of the rice grain that is separated during the milling process. It is one of the most abundant agricultural byproducts in India, produced in enormous quantities at rice mills across the country. Composed primarily of silica up to 20 percent by weight — and organic carbon compounds including cellulose, lignin, and hemi-cellulose, rice husk has a unique combination of physical and chemical properties that make it exceptionally valuable as an organic soil amendment and growing medium component.
Its hard, fibrous structure resists rapid decomposition — meaning it maintains its soil improving physical properties for a long time after incorporation. Its high silica content provides plants with a natural source of this important structural mineral. And its lightweight, porous texture creates the open pore spaces in soil and growing media that roots, air, and water need to move freely.

Unlike chemical soil conditioners that provide short term results and leave harmful residues, rice husk is a completely natural agricultural byproduct that improves soil health progressively and sustainably with every application. It is 100% organic, free from synthetic chemicals, and safe for all plants, gardens, children, pets, and edible crops.
Use rice husk as a soil amendment mixed directly into garden beds, raised beds, and potting mix for better drainage and aeration. Use as organic mulch on garden bed surfaces to conserve moisture, regulate soil temperature, and suppress weed growth. Can I use rice husk for indoor plants?
Yes. Rice husk is excellent for indoor plants — mixed into potting mix at 10 to 15 percent it improves drainage and aeration in indoor containers. Use at the lower rate for moisture-sensitive indoor plants and the higher rate for cacti, succulents, and other drainage-sensitive varieties.
