Will this reamer work on SCH80 pipe?
No. This fitting saver is only designed for standard SCH40 PVC‐CPVC‐ABS pipe. SCH80 pipe has thicker wall, inner dimension is different, will not fit and may damage your fitting or the tool.
Can I use cordless battery drill with this reamer?
We strongly recommend a high‐power corded electric drill. Light‐duty cordless battery drills often lack sufficient torque and RPM, may slip, stall or deliver poor cutting result. Using weak drill does not mean the tool itself is defective.
Do I need extra clearance near elbow fitting?
Yes. You need enough working space between elbow / fitting and pipe to fit both drill + reamer assembly. If space is very tight, this tool cannot be used.
Can I use this on old / non‐standard pipe?
No. Only for factory‐standard SCH40 pipe. Old renovated, modified, irregular‐size pipes are not compatible.
Why does this reamer have two diameters? Was I sent the wrong size?
No. The smaller front tip passes through the fitting's entry stop, while the larger shoulder seats against the socket wall to keep the cutter centered and protect the fitting. Both diameters are required to match standard pipe fitting geometry.
